About The Poem
Through her written pieces, Maria Petropoulos (she/her) a Brisbane based artist, currently in her third year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) at QUT, has taken a different approach to the Connect and Regenerate program.
Maria’s poem, Tuning In, immerses readers in the peaceful natural setting of Barrambin, as she meditates on its rich Indigenous history and on her own personal
experiences of releasing stress and healing through nature.
Her written informative piece inspired by ‘Barrambin’s (York’s Hollow)’ attunes to Barrambin’s Indigenous history, its rich sources of nature and fauna, and touches on modern-day topics regarding the preservation of the land.
